Avalon Furniture originated in Yatton, Somerset, UK, and was originally called Wake & Dean. The company changed its name to Avalon in the 1960s to reflect the changing tastes of the time. Avalon’s designs embraced minimalism and new materials like Formica plastic laminates. Avalon Furniture also manufactured furniture in Moorabbin, Melbourne.
